Stoneaorbit sits on one of Madrid's most storied avenues, five minutes' walk from the Prado and the Retiro. The building dates from 1921, and its original Andalusian-tile corridor and vaulted lobby ceiling have been preserved rather than plastered over. Warm amber-gold tones run through every space — from the hand-stitched headboards to the glazed terracotta pots in the courtyard — giving the whole property the feeling of somewhere lived-in and loved. Whether you're here for a long weekend, a business trip, or an extended city exploration, the team works around your schedule, not the other way around.
Each of our 22 rooms is individually decorated with original artwork and locally sourced textiles. No two layouts are the same, and every corner was chosen rather than specified from a catalogue. Blackout curtains, rainfall showers and handmade soaps are standard throughout.
Every morning we lay out a spread of Castilian bread from the bakery around the corner, seasonal fruit from the Mercado de la Paz, house-made olive oil, and Manchego that arrives on Fridays directly from La Mancha. It's a proper start, not a buffet afterthought.
Our concierge team has a combined 30 years of living and working in this city. They can book a flamenco show in a taberna locals use, find you a table at a neighbourhood tasca on a Saturday night, or arrange a private tour of the Reina Sofía before opening hours.
Tucked behind the main building, our amber-lit courtyard is planted with jasmine and orange trees. It's where guests take their afternoon coffee, read the papers, or simply sit with a glass of Rioja as the Madrid light turns golden at dusk.
