Our concierge team curates experiences that put you in the city the way locals live it — not as a tourist moving between monuments.
It starts with a conversation. When you arrive at Stoneaorbit, the concierge desk isn't a formality — it's the first real exchange of the stay. We ask what you care about: food, art, architecture, music, neighbourhoods, day trips. From that, we build a programme that fits your days without dictating them. We have ongoing relationships with private guides at the Prado and the Reina Sofía, with a flamenco producer who runs intimate shows in a 40-seat venue in Lavapiés, and with a ceramics workshop in Atocha where you can spend a morning throwing clay with a professional potter. These are not tourist packages — they are introductions to people and places that Madrid's longer-term residents know and use.
A performance in a 40-seat taberna, with pre-show drinks and a brief introduction from the company's artistic director. Available Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday evenings. Stoneaorbit guests receive preferred booking and reserved front-row seats. This is not the tourist show on Gran Vía — it's a working company performing for a room of 40.
Through our partnership with a licensed guide, guests can arrange a private Prado visit on weekday mornings before the museum opens to the general public. The guide specialises in the Velázquez rooms and the Flemish collection. Groups are capped at six people. Must be booked at least 48 hours in advance.
A three-hour morning walk through Malasaña with a food journalist who has covered Madrid's restaurant scene for over a decade. Includes stops at a family-run charcutería, a coffee roaster, and a vermouth bar that has been operating since 1962. Ends with a full lunch at the journalist's own neighbourhood favourite.
A private day trip to Toledo with a medieval historian who grew up there. The itinerary goes beyond the cathedral to include a synagogue visit, a swordsmith's workshop, and a long lunch in a restored 15th-century courtyard. Car and driver are included; departure from Stoneaorbit at 09:00.
Spend two hours at a small ceramics studio a short walk from the hotel, learning to throw on the wheel with a professional potter who has exhibited internationally. All materials included; finished pieces are fired and shipped to your home address within three weeks. Suitable for all levels — no experience required.

The concierge team can arrange almost any experience described above and handle most requests with 24 to 48 hours' notice. Some — the before-hours Prado access and the historian-led Toledo day trip — require more lead time and are subject to guide availability. We can make recommendations for experiences outside Madrid but cannot personally vet every provider beyond the city. Dining reservations at very high-demand restaurants (particularly in summer) should be requested as early as possible, ideally before you arrive. We won't book experiences we wouldn't take ourselves, which means we occasionally say no to requests that don't meet our standard — and explain clearly why.
